DESCRIPTION:
APW - Elgin, Lord Elgin, Grade 162, 21J, 16S, green gold-filled OF case with very attractive engraving detail, hinged rear and snap bezel, white enamel DS dial with Breguet style hour numerals, SW-SS, fully capped lever escapement, raised gold jewel settings with decorative gold disk around balance jewel setting, gold train, ornate nickel damascene, s#8497417. The Lord Elgin is very rare in its 21 jewel 16 size versions, as only a very small fraction of Grade 162 and Grade 156 production carried the "Lord Elgin" marking.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, slight oxide to regulator assembly; dial has small fracture to lower left corner of center section, subtle cloudiness of surface glaze; fine hands; case shows very little wear, no dents or dings, excellent engraving detail, few tiny spots of wear to brass to pendant edges; tight bow, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal.
